In December 2016, Jeffrey was named the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Garland Independent School District. In that role, he works to provide vision, leadership, and expertise in the development of circular and instructional systems and programs that are research-based, student-centered, and rigorous and that meet the needs of all Garland ISD students. Prior to assuming this position, Jeffrey served as the Grand Prairie Independent School District Executive Director of College Readiness, spearheading a strong college-going culture. In accomplishing that task, he engaged GPISD in the national and local college readiness communities; developed a college preparatory institute unique in the North Texas area; established two early college high schools; and nurtured GPISD relationships with area colleges and universities.
With over 16 years of experience serving as a secondary math and Physics teacher, instructional coach, curriculum specialist and facilitator, and central office administrator, Jeffrey Miller has taken a pragmatic approach to providing the needs of students and families to ensure successful outcomes. Jeffrey has also participated in several district-wide projects related to instructional coaching, curriculum and assessment design, teacher professional development, STEM education, and program evaluation, in multiple school districts.
Jeffrey received his Masters of Arts in Teaching degree with a concentration in science education from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelors Degree in Physics from Texas A&M University. In August 2017, Jeffrey received his doctorate in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in school counselor leadership coaching from Texas A&M University.
Jeffrey is an avid runner, a mobile technology enthusiast, and he enjoys music, news, and social/historical documentaries. He also is developing an interest in digital photography. When he is not spending quality time with his family or serving his church community, he is sleeping.
